Someone also born in New York state who also has had the orchiectomy posted in their blog recently that they were able to get their federal status changed to female despite that New York state won't change the birth certificate gender without the full bottom surgery.
Unfortunately, she wasn't willing to disclose her method for getting this done. My guess is she got a doc to lie about the bottom surgery being done. However, if anyone else has a different method for getting this done, I'm all ears...as the doc that did my orchie isn't willing to do the same.
From the usual google link searches, I haven't yet found a site that said more than that NY requires the full bottom surgery to change the birth certificate gender.
My rush on this is that I was laid off and am looking at getting into health care for a career. I am concerned that when they do the background check it may show the federal info even though in my home state of Oregon, I'm considered female by local laws (changed my driver's license).

Wed, September 17, 2008 - 11:12 PMI translated a document by Hélène Hazera and ACT UP Paris about the French Federal ID system. Apparently, your social security number in France includes a 1 or 2 code to identify you as male or female. Getting it changed there is very difficult if not impossible as well.
